Everybody knows that there is a very big presidential election coming up in early November, but not everybody understands the affect that this election will have on the real estate market. Whoever the next president is, he will have a few large housing issues to address.

The main concern that will need to be addressed is what type of role the government will play in housing finance. While neither candidate has outlined a specific plan for what the government’s role will be in the housing and mortgage lending market, it is expected that President Obama will continue adding to his existing government programs like foreclosure relief, and Presidential hopeful Mitt Romney will lessen regulations and repeal the Dodd-Frank Act.

It is undoubted that the next President will have a large impact on the American real estate so if you are in the real estate market or will be soon, make sure to do your research and get out to the polls and vote!
